BELIEVE IT!!!!

With a couple Chicago White Sox fans in the house, the World Series this year was beyond exciting. Last night, the White Sox won the forth and final game of the World Series 1-0. We watched all 4 games and this one was the most intense, most stressful, and at the end the most gratifying. After the game, we went to Dick at 1130 PM and got Michael a World Series Champs shirt to wear to school today. He was so happy when he woke up this morning.

Here are some other pictures I plan to include in our scrapbook for 2005.

Ally's New Barbie Head

Ally has been wanting one of these FOREVER, really. Ok since about last Spring but when she tells me every few days it feels like forever. Anyway, we were at the store the other day and she sees it. She says she really, really wants it and she will SHARE it with me. How sweet is that? I had told her that I had wanted one when I was a little girl and my Mommy never got one for me. They were on sale 40% off at Kohl's for $14.99 plus I had a coupon for an additional 30% off. So, since it was a major bargin and she was going to share her dolly with me, we took her home.

She couldn't wait to start playing with her hair and putting on her glitter eye shadow and lip gloss. Then I had to do her hair just like Barbies. These are the good times.

Scarecrow Festival

This weekend was the Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles. The kids had a good time. We walked around and saw all the scarecrows. Some favorites were the Star Wars and the "couch pumpkin." We took the kids to Armand's for pizza afterward. Some pics of the day:

Books: The Pact

I recently finished this one. What a great book! So profound and so very tragic. This book is from the same author as My Sister's Keeper that I read earlier in the summer. One thing I love about her books is that there is no right answer, no easy fix. You get the different points of view of the characters in the story and they are all right in some way. You get to know how what has happened affected them individually. And I end up thinking about the characters long after the book is done. Awesome read!

Vin's Bad, Bad Day

Poor little guy. He has been trying to master jumping off the swings - you know while in the air? Anyway, he jumped too late, fell off, landed hard, banged up his wrist...and ended up with a cast. Here he is with his temp cast. He gets a "real" one in a few days. To some kids, having a cast sounds fun and exciting. Not to my Vinny! Anything that gets in the way of the "norm", the way things are "supposed" to be, forget it. He is not happy. I took him to Blockbuster today and he picked out 4 movies and then to Dominick's to pick up some drugs and a few staples for him: Cheetos, Banana Nut Muffins, Pink Lemonade. I spent a small fortune on things that we totally didn't need but I'd do anything to see that smile today. I love you buddy!

I just did this one of Ally.
